Controlling fleas and ticks

How to break the life cycle – controlling fleas and ticks

A natural, chemical free and  environmentally friendly way to keep your pets parasite free.

Controlling fleas and ticks

Look around your yard. Identify the areas where fleas and ticks are likely to live. Fleas love to congregate in places where they are protected from bright sunlight and that have slightly higher humidity. This includes your dog’s house, sleeping and feeding areas, and underneath lawn structures. Ticks, on the other hand, do best in tall grasses and branches, where they can climb up to grab onto a passing animal or human.

A cheap and easy way of controlling fleas and ticks in your yard is to keep the grass, trees and shrubs trimmed and orderly. Clean up all of the piles of debris and leaves that may be littering the ground. Sweep off patios and under decks and lawn furniture. Remove or secure any garbage bins that may attract rodents or small animals that could be carrying fleas and ticks.

Unless you have a major infestation, keeping the yard clean and debris-free should help break the flea and tick life cycle. You may not need to use chemical treatments in your yard, but if it becomes necessary, make sure to read the labels carefully before choosing which one to use.

So to keep your pets happy and healthy, schedule a regular lawn mow with Justin today.

Lawn Weeds, Pests and Diseases

Weeds, pests & diseases make lawns ugly and very sick.

If left untreated, weeds, pests and diseases will only get worse over time until a lawn can no longer be recognised as the lawn you once loved. That once beautiful lawn will become depressing to look at, make a home ugly, kids will hate it, and it will take a lot of work and money to make a sick lawn healthy again.

A little bit of lawn care maintenance is all that is needed.

Regular Lawn Mowing

Regular Lawn Mowing Saves Water

Grass Cutter Lawn Mower

When your lawns are mowed at the right frequency and height compared to how fast they are growing at the time, you help to reduce the build up of thatch and allow more sunlight to reach the leaves for more efficient photosynthesis and more water reaches the grass roots.  Put simply, this means that more of your lawn’s energy is invested in making more green leaves. Your turf will look better and thicken fast.  By mowing lawns correctly, you get rid of many weedy flowers and seeds that would otherwise drop into the lawn leaf foliage and make more weeds.

Lawns Love To Be Mowed

Lawns love being mowed at the right frequency, it keeps them strong and healthy. A regularly mowed lawn is healthier and definitely looks much better all year round.
